Going to Alaska for a bike tour in October wasn't the best idea.

    It was wayyyyy too cold.

After waking up in my tent in the cold and snow, I began to feel dizzy and weak.

Barely able to walk (due to fatigue and lack of energy), I decided that rather than press on, I should play it safe and just turn around, cycle for two days back in the direction I had just come, and then rent a car in Wasilla, Alaska.

Renting the car would allow me to get out of the cold weather at times throughout the day...

and it would allow me to see more of Alaska than I would have been able to see traveling only on my bicycle.

So, despite not wanting to do it, I made the decision to turn around and discontinue my Alaskan bicycle touring adventure.

    Ugh.
